Thanks Tim, I´ll have a go at it tonight. Need to make a special cable then..... (It's been a while since I've checked it out, but I believe that this is the case. I'll be inside the CMI soon, so I can verify this) You sync the IIx by using a 384 PPQ sync into the sync input on the back of the mainframe, in the row along the bottom. You will need to make a custom cable for this. Going by memory, the IIx (as well as the I and II) use that jack for both input and output. One is to pin 2, one is to pin 3, and they share a common ground to pin 1. The manual has this diagram in the back) This works for Page R. For Page 9 and for MCL you will have different clock rates. -Tim On Jan 11, 2010, at 5:09 PM, WT wrote: > Hi Billy ! > > Thanks for the answer. > > The IIx unfortunately doesn´t sync to Midi. > > The manuals that I have for the General Interface card doesn´t go into > detail about how to sync the IIx. > > What I like to do is feed clocks ( 384 ppq as I can decipher from > various > sources ) into the CMI IIx. > > But should I connect it to the Midi box Sync input with a cable from > the > Midi box clock out to the CMI sync input or > > should I only connect to the Midi Box or > > should I only connect to the CMI Sync input. > > That´s the question. > > Hmmm..... > > Maybe I should solder some adapters. > > WT > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Bill" <billyrockplay@yahoo.com> > To: <Fairlight-CMI@yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Monday, January 11, 2010 11:41 PM > Subject: [Fairlight-CMI] Re: Syncing a IIx > > In the past - we would record a track of sync tone and then feed it > back to > the Fairlight (IIx) to sync the Fairlight to tape.
