Last year I started a topic on this sample, and Peter Vogel very kindly provided some information on its origin - she was an Australian Kelpie called Candy, belonging to Michael Carlos. I've just made a piece called Spacedog that comments on Candy's accidental immortality through having been sampled. I don't own a Fairlight, and this was done using patches on a Roland Vsynth to process Candy's bark, along with EMS synth sounds from my Vsynth EMS project and orchestral sounds from Direct Wave (the orchestral sounds are my own apart from one Direct Wave sample - Arturia CS80V strings, a real cello played by me, and so on). In case anyone's interested in this Fairlight related piece, albeit not performed on a Fairlight, it's at: http://sweep.infinite9ths.com/ As it's the latest addition it's at the bottom of the track list. There's also a rather bizarre cover version of Gong's (equally bizarre) `I've Bin Stoned Before,' also with Candy's voice, as part of the Gong cover versions program at: http://www.myspace.com/zerosheroescd My track with Candy is currently the last track on the list.
