Lithium battery. Solution
2000-10-21 by Nathan I Smutz
What the repair man did with mine was: he pried the old battery off and soldered a battery holder in it's place. If the battery runs out again (in another ten or twelve years) I just have to open it up and put a new battery in the holder. On the VFX (regular variety) the disk shaped batterey is under the far side of the front panel. If you know what you're doing with a soldering iron, you could probably do it yourself. I can't remember whether the repair man used a heat sink or not. The battery is attached with a strip of metal or two that are riveted to the battery. Be careful not to do any damage getting the battery off. Soli Deo Gloria, Nathan ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET!
