So you lever the chip out of its base and slot the new one in? I thought that was probably it but it have no idea how much force needs to be applied.

I'm still trying to find if the CEM 3379 that I have found is compatible.

yes that is all you need to do, for cons I have no idea of the strength he needed, but when the introduction of the new chip well check it is properly nested so that it did not loose connections

Thanks for the help.

I shall see if I can get the chip I need.

I didn't know you had purchased this BS2 second hand and from eBay. Have you made sure the modules are all plugged in to the power bus? Some circuits can pass audio without being powered. And companies that sell electronics on eBay are not necessarily aware of how they work and what they should even do!

Good luck

Nick

I have taken the filter module and the envelope module out - checked the wiring and plugged them back in - no difference in performance. Even tried different power sockets on the rail in the system to make sure there wasn't a dodgy one. No luck :-)

I will. I think that the chips I've found on eBay are ok. It looks as though the 2nd and 3rd four digit numbers are probably date / batch numbers. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller of those before I order anything.

And I'll see if Doepfer can tell me anymore tomorrow.
