doepfer a-120 versus A-108

2014-01-12 by syndromeda@telenet.be

Hi,
Is there a real different in sound between the A-120 and the A-108. I already have an A-108, ladder-filter, and was thinking of adding an A-120, ladder-filter too, to my system but maybe thats idiot.
Anyone?
TIA,
Danny

I have to admit I don't understand the sense of these demos. The sound
is in a quite open static filter setting, neither an envelope modulation
on the filter, nor any kind of sweep. How should one judge what the
filter is doing. It is like judging a glowbulb in the bright sun...

They are made in a demo set frameworks so as to be able to judge the quality of the filter
I did not want to make a demo or hissing noise filter, demos like that there is full internet
if you not find useful demos that I made it is your right, everyone has to judge the usefulness of what is presented
I personnaly I judge demos saturation or noise filter does not show me the musical quality of a filter

good to you

Well Florian, that was my thought too, but now I still do not know if it is worth buying a A-120.
I already have the following filters in my system: A-101-1 / 105 / 106-1 / 106-5 / 106-6 / 108 / 122 / 124 / 127.
As the A-108 is also a ladder filter it might be stupid to add a A-120 to my system.
What do you think?
Cheers & tia,
Danny
