Doepfer

Please help , I received my brand new A-152 from Thomann and it arrived with a missing broken part, 

PLEASE CHECK THE UPLOADED PHOTO IN THE PHOTO SECTION OF THE GROUP.


I wish to replace the part  as i don't want to return from Peru to Germany. Part is missing (one of tose white squares with a "J" on it, solder points still there .  As you can see in the photo , there is damaged in the front panel as well , of course the problem was bad handling of the package with bad shipping protection (no packing material almost) they were loose inside the box.

I marked the missing part with green arrows, one arrow to show the empty space (or solder points ) and another arrow to show the part that I believe is missing as i compared this module with the A-152 from a friend here.


Please let me know which part it is and where can i get one ? I want to replace it (i can use the iron solder , and  desolder well)

Hello Ricardo

I think returning the module should be the better solution, but I 
understand that you don't want to wait another three weeks.

The part is C8 which is a polyester or polypropylene capacitor 22nF 25V.

The module will work without it (this is only a damping capacitor, which 
is intended to keep away potential ripples on the power bus).

Maybe you can agree with Thomann, that they send you another new A-152, 
and you send the damaged one back as soon as the new one arrived.

Ricardo, I'm sorry for the troubles. As you already mentioned the module was
not suitable packed for the long journey to Peru.
But I think you may cool down. The broken part is a capacitor which is not
essential for the functioning of the whole module. It's the holding
capacitor for the T&H output #8. Only this output should be affected by the
broken capacitor. The value of the capacitor is 22nF and as soon as it is
replaced even T&H #8 should work. It's a low cost part (less than 0.1 Euro
here in Europe) and I hope you can get it from an electronic shop in your
country. If you cannot find 22n even 10n or 47n will work.

Uuups! I misread the schematic: The damping cap I thought of is C18 (in 
the schematic the "1" of the 18 is printed over with signal line).

Dieter is right of course (how could it be else ;-) ): C8 is the hold 
cap, and the channel 8 will be affected.

Dieter , I just ordered a customized g6 case straight from Doepfer DE . My bank transfer is about to clear and I would really appreciate it if you can include a couple of those capacitors inside a plastic bag together with my G6 case. I can send a paypal for the cost of the parts. Would it be possible. Here it's going to be tricky to find it.
