voltage range of all the a100 CV cources???

voltage range of all the a100 CV cources???

2002-09-23 by bakis Sirros

hi list,
these goes to all the a100 modular "wizard" users:
can any of you send a list to the group including the
voltage range of all the a100 cv cources(the
lfo's,adsr's,sequencers,vco's,trigger
outputs,etc...).this would be very usefull to all of
us, because many users would like to connect other
analog synths to the cv cources of the a100...(i would
like to connect it to my VCS3 cv inputs, but, first,i
would like to know the voltage range,so as not to
destroy my VCS3.)
bakis.

According to my cheapo voltmeter (which has an analog dial hehe):

A165: 0 to 9V
A160: 0 to 10V
A147 -4.5 to +4.5V
A155 Gate: 0 to 10V
A155 CV top: 0 to 4V
A155 CV bottom: 0 to 7V
A190 Gate: 0 to 9V
A191 LFO: -5 to +5V
A191 CV: 0 to 5V
A141: 0 to 6V
A162: 0 to 10V
A140: 0 to 7V
A119 Gate: 0 to 8V
A119 Env: 0 to 8.5V
A176: 0 to 5.5V
A145: -5 to +5V

I seem to recall Timothy did a more comprehensive list earlier when
the A150 bleed-thru issue was being discussed.

Re: voltage range of all the a100 CV cources???

Hi Bakis and everyone,
I've recently been looking at messages on the web, rather
than receiving emails (due to my change of job and hence loss of
daily email/internet access), so I don't feel I've been persecuted by
unwanted spam, and am quite happy to continue contributing when I
feel I can. (Also I shall probably continue just looking at the web
page rather than going back to individual emails since my new PC
and `always on' internet connection is so flippin' fast there doesn't
seem any point in switching back!). So, here are some of the voltages
out of the modules I have:

A110 sine, pulse +/- 5.5V(there's no coupling capacitor, so stays
this no matter what pulse width set to), tri +/- 7V, saw +/-5V
A111 pulse +/- 4.5V (output is AC coupled, so this shifts to make DC
level zero, depending on pulse width), saw, tri +/- 3V, sine +/- 4.5V
A117 digital noise 0 – 12V, oscillator outputs (very) approx +/- 5V
A119 gate out 0 – 9V
A129/3 CV out (nothing in) 0 – 5.5V (daisy-chaining two sections can
add the same to this, to get up to 11V out)
A140 envelope 0 – 7V
A141 envelope 0 – 6V
A145 saw, sine, square +/- 4.5V, triangle +/- 5V
A146 bipolar pulse +/- 4.5V, unipolar pulse 0 – 8V, variable tri +/-
4V
A147 tri +/- 6V, sine +/- 5.5V, square +/- 5V, saw (unipolar) 0 – 7V
A156 trigger out 0 – 5V
A160/161 clock outputs 0 – 12V
A163 divided output +/- 2.5V; (DC output if capacitor shorted 0 – 5V)
A174: X/Y offset set to 0, full range of joystick gives approx -4V
to +4V; joystick central, turning X or Y offset gives approx the
same, -4V to 4V (hence you can get 0 – 8V out etc.)
A179 gate 0 – 9V, CV out swings through 12V, so -12V – 0 to 0 – 12V
possible depending on offset setting
A190 gate 0 – 9V

Some of these readings are quite rough and ready, and there may
obviously be some variation from module to module; also some VCO/LFO
outputs change with frequency.

Maybe other members can supply ranges for those modules I don't have,
e.g. A176 etc.

When time allows I'm still trying to "fill in the gaps" in my
knowledge, so that I can understand some of the finer points of
oscillator behaviour (particularly the quad osc in the A126 frequency
shifter). I'm also looking to buy an analogue simulation package such
as Multisim or PSpice, so that'll help – I'll keep you posted of
anything I turn up!

Tim

Ha! Joe beat me by about 30 seconds, but we seem to be pretty much in
agreement! – Tim (and I don't have a black pointy hat either
)

I use the web interface as well, since I'm used to the Delphi and the
soon-defunct LUSENET forums.

A136: -10 to +10V forgot to measure earlier.

I measured 0 to about 5.5V for my previous post

thank you very,very much joe!!!
this list will be very helpful to many members,i
think...(without a voltmeter)
bakis.
