I see two reasons for this behaviour: a loose connector or defective integrated circuits. Look at the connectors of the ribbon cable that leads from the small control board (start, stop, step, reset) to the trigger/potentiometer boards. If the cable and the connectors are OK probably one or more integrated circuits on the control board or on the trigger/potentiometer boards are defective. As each integrated circuit is equipped with a socket the circuits can be replaced without soldering. If the module is still under warranty please return it to the dealer where you purchased it.
