As said - nothing can be damaged but there may occur temperature stability problems (e.g. the 1V/Oct scale or the frequency offset of the VCO may change a bit over the time). Consequently I'd recommend to find a 12V AC but temporarily the 16V AC supply may be used. Best wishes Dieter Doepfer
