Okay, basic set up looks good. Try the following settings: On the A-140 put the switch in the 'M' position, Attack 0, Decay 5, Sustain 3, Release 3. On the A-131 Gain 3, In 10, Out 10. Also make sure that the 'Range' knob of the A-110 sits somewhere in the middle region. Perhaps also use another A-110. You can also insert your output cable directly into one of the waveform outputs of the A-110 to test whether you get any audio at all. As for your conncetion to the soundcard I can't really help you there. I assume you have tested it with other audio devices so you are sure it works. Try inserting a headphone into the VCA to check whether you can get some sound but watch those levels, the A-100 output is very hot. And don't despair, having a modular and wondering why there's no sound go hand in hand. ________________________________ From: computergirl_21 <sophiebernhard@hotmail.com> To: Doepfer_a100@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, January 2, 2011 11:17:26 Subject: [Doepfer_a100] Re: Total, complete, utter newbie question Thank you for the fast reply, York! this is how I patched it: CV -> A-110 CV1 -> A131 Audio In Gate -> A-140 Gate ->A131 CV1 I can see the envelope generator module LED lighting up when I press on a MIDI key, but still no sound. For the output, I tried to use a patch lead and a 1/4" adaptor to plug it in the soundcard. Nothing. So I then use an audio cable and used another adaptor to be able to plug it in the output of the VCA. Nothing. What am I missing?!?!… thank you anyway!
