For Paul Roark:

What curve profile would you recommend for new papers: Crane Museu
Silver Rag, HFine Pearl, etc?

Thanks. Nancy

I believe people find the Premium Semigloss profiles to be the closest.

The best way to deal with new papers is to take the profile that gives the
tone you want and embed it in an ICC and linearize the new paper as
described at
http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Embedding_Photoshop_Curves_in_ICCs.pdf
Even a flatbed scanner can be used to linearize the system. See
http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/Making_B-W_ICCs.htm

Hope this helps.
