2200 BO question

2200 BO question

2006-04-19 by how786

I currently use Eboni Black for my BO printing. I print 95% on matte
papers. For the rare occaision I need to print on semigloss or glossy
should I be using Photo Black or should I keep using the Eboni Black
and choose a matte paper type as the media?
I'm wondering what most people here do.....
  Thanks
  Howard

For good Black Only prints on glossy paper, including the new technology
ones like Crane Silver Rag or the Innova (& Permajet) papers, a Photo Black
(PK) or neutralized PK (PKN) can be used. If you have color inks in the
printer, then it's the only way.

If you are using UT7 (or the next, soon to be released UT-3D iteration) you
can print on glossy paper with one of the curves that allow glossy printing
with Eboni still installed. This becomes particularly important for those
who use CFS/CIS units or large format printers.
