Digital BW, The Print

My first VFA 13x19 has come out of the printer.  Far from perfect...  Ooo,
the ink.....

About a 1/4 into the print something went really wrong, it looks as though
the after the head passed the paper rubbed up against the print inside the
printer.  There is a large blot of ink at this point on the top and bottom
of the print (landscape).  The smearing in these areas has lines running on
them from something mechanical in the printer.

The second thing is the bleeding of the ink along the edges of the image
onto the borders.  This problem seems minor now.

I'm sorry, I should have proofread my post.  It should read:

"...it looks as though that after the head passed these areas the
paper rubbed up against something inside the printer..."
