Is PermaJet MonochromePro ink the same as MIS ink?

Is PermaJet MonochromePro ink the same as MIS ink?

2006-03-16 by alanrew42

While researching third party ink options for my 2100 that are easily
available here in the UK, I've been investigating the PermaJet
MonochromePro inks.

On another forum
http://www.dl-c.com/discus/messages/2/6684.html?1134322385
somebody reported that the curves supplied for these inks were the
same as Paul's for MIS inks, which makes me wonder whether in fact the
inks are the same but re-badged for the European market.

Does anybody have inside info about this?

TIA

Alan

That was me, and it was clear to me, for those inks - it was quite
long ago now. The inks concerned were those sold by MIS as VM Quadtone
Inks.

I have no evidence relating to any other inks.

Note it is easy to buy from MIS - I'm a UK customer.

Hi Ken, thanks for replying, it's a small world in digital B&W, even
smaller in the UK maybe :-)

The inks I'm looking at are specifically the 7-cartridge set, which
are described here and I assume have more than 4 (quad) tones (??)

I don't know if this was the same type of inks as those you encountered.

What puts me off ordering direct from MIS is their insistence
(understandable from security grounds) on delivering to the credit
card billing address, which is very inconvenient for me & so I usually
have goods delivered at my work address instead. Do they vary this
rule, in your experience? It's a real pain.

Anyway, my 2100 is either being sold privately 'as is' or being
converted to dedicated B&W, as I'll probably get an Epson 2400 in the
near future.

Regards,

Alan
