Channel Mixer Settings for Converting to BW that Mimic Traditional Films

Channel Mixer Settings for Converting to BW that Mimic Traditional Films

2006-02-05 by lou4photo

Since I mentioned this little chart a couple of days ago I have
recieved quite a bit of mail. So nice to hear from everyone but since
there seems to be a fair amount of interest in it, I created a blog on
Yahoo and posted it:

I hope some find it useful. Have fun and happy printing!

Thank you, Lou. Very interesting. I assume the values are in R,G,B order?

Hi Lou, I get a "Yahoo Group Not Found" message when clicking on the link.

Yes Bob. You are correct.

If anyone can't link to the site contact me off list and I will shoot
an email to you with the chart. That was my first yahoo blog attempt.

Also... I didn't create the chart so I can't speak to it's absolute
accuracy to the listed films. I pick the chart up ages ago on a photo-
related forum but can remember the original source. I have used some
of the kodak settings to interesting effect. In many cases the
differences between films is subtle. However, I found that to be true
in the Convert-to-BW Pro Plug-in as well. At best these may be
interesting jumping off points. YMMV
