"Not Ansel" re-visited

Hi All, I've got many more comments that I could make to the "Not Ansel" discussion, but let me just make one last one and I'll leave it at that. Art or not, that's a matter of semantics. However in my opinion it was not necessary to use the term "snap shots" while refering to these images. In the company of serious photographers the term "snap shot" has a demeaning connotation. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'll be one of the first to defend that, but I don't think it's necessary to disrespect and diminish someones work because it's not to your taste. On the other hand, everyone has an opinion and this is a free board. My opinion is that these photographs represent the photographic art at it's best, journalistic content or not! That's the sum total of what I'll say on this subject on list - if someone wants to respond off list, I'll be glad to discuss my opinions in more depth. Roger Smith E. Lansing, MI 48823--
