Digital BW, The Print

Hello, Newbe here, set up P600, downloaded QTR (and paid!, of course) now the adjustments/work begins.

I had some E hot press natural paper, my laptop is Photoshop CC (again, maybe some of the problem), and printing with the printer Epson shipped inks, from greyscale or RGB file.

Last attempt looked pretty much as the calibrated monitor, BUT THE PRINT DIALOG DIDN'T GET ME INTO QTR TONING PROFILE PAGES, -- I'd used "quadP600" I believe for the printer selection, but couldn't seem to find the necessary QTR menus for toning profiles.

My last print attempt, (nr.3) did match the monitor image, but the lower values appear muddy and quite a way from the old silver based prints. Hot press natural my not be my final paper selection -- used since it was on hand).

Greatly appreciate any help the Group may be able to provide -- perhaps my bad for not seeing the "search groups" button above, so please pardon my mistakes here!! Certainly need all the help I can get, 40-year mag career, don't know if website links are allowed but saw the moderator checks so he/she can certainly delete the following if necessary robertgrier.com

You might want to take a look at the new profiling system i released this morning. It might really shorten the lead in curve for making new profiles. You’ll still need to have a way to measure the targets, but my new system does waway with the need to create curves from the ink descriptor files.
