Print a week program

Print a week program

2013-07-26 by Lew Schwartz

I'm beginning to see the wisdom of not letting my printer sit idle for
weeks on end when I'm away or not interested. I understand there are some
programs out there that will send a shot to the printer every X days. Can
anyone name or recommend such a program? I assume a good exercise print is
actually a color chart, yes?

Hi Len...

I've been printing at least a "Print a Day" for 3.5 years now. Not only
has it kept my printer in good shape, but it's helped me improve my skills
a lot. You might consider printing yourself...as opposed to having a
computer program print for you....could be a win-win.

I'm sure it would help my skills, too. Sometimes, I'm out of town and
others I'm busy taking pictures.

There was a quite recent thread on the Luminous Landscape forum where I
suggested the use of QTR + scheduling software and someone made an app
like that. I tried to find it but could not.

Google searches it better than the LuLa search does.
Cybis/Luc Busquin made it, I see,

first it was discussed in the middle of that endless thread:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?topic=61585.800

and it evolved to this thread:
http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=75383.0

Where this link is given by Cybis:
This method
(http://lucbusquin.com/content/purge-all-epson-x900-ink-channels) will
exercise all nozzles in all channels exactly and equally using
QuadtoneRIP on x900.

Must be possible to use it for other QTR supported models.
