I'm using an Epson 1400 with Claria "clones" from LYSON (their XG series)..Fantastic results.ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!.I haven't noticed ANY fading using this ink and RR ULTRA POLAR Gloss over the last 5 years, and NONE as well with the RR Metallic since it was first available..I have not done any "SOUTH" window testing, however..Of course THAT could "TOAST" the color off of virtually ANY media.. These inks may be available for your printer as well.. Contact http://www.ink2image.com Their phone # is on this site.. Best of luck with your 4880! Eddie

At their best, the dyes on Canson Baryta that has been sprayed have done amazingly well, almost at the Color UltraChrome level. However, the tests with another company's metallic show considerable changes at 50 MLux-hours. See http://www.aardenburg-imaging.com/ My own experience with the Noritsu dyes on Red River Metallic indicate that un-sprayed, un-framed cards on the mantle in a light room with south facing windows look very good after one year. I don't see any obvious change in non-critical observation. So, while I don't expect much longevity from any dye, I think the sprayed ones will probably still be fine after several years. I expect they won't look the same after 25 years. This is eye candy. They look great, are cheap, sell, and are fun to make and look at. I just spray with Lascaux (non-UV), dry-mount on pre-coated foam-core, frame-nail into black frames cut from stock, and it's done. With a roll of Red River Polar Pearl Metallic in the 4000, printing impressive looking display prints is easy. No other print media has come close to the apparent sharpness and "snap" these display. That said, we hang carbon prints under acrylic on most of our walls at home. Paul www.PaulRoark.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Thanks, Paul. I really like the Eboni-6 on EHPN, but for some of my images increased dynamic range and sharpness would be welcome. I've been shooting quite a bit with an 8x10 camera this year.
