I saw a print on very thin Japanese silk paper. You can find it here: http://www.dirkbraeckman.be/projects/71/S.N.-N.M.-08 I wonder if anyone knows how it is done and if someone over here has experience with it? All the best, Ben

If you are using a regular inkjet, either desktop or large format, you need to attach your thin paper to some thicker carrier paper to allow it to register and then to pass through the printer. You will need to experiment using tapes and temporary mounting sprays to see what works best with your particular combination of printing paper and carrier. For this kind of printing you will also need to use a RIP as the printer driver will deliver more ink than the paper can hold. When I have printed on these kinds of paper I have used the MIS Eboni 6 inks but the Cone Carbon ones should also work. Good luck, I have made some good images this way but also made a mess on many occasions. David, I am not sure that advice is still relevant. I have successfully profiled to a thin paper within the Epson driver on a Epson 7800. You will see tracing paper as a paper option. it delivers very little ink. Hi Eric, that's interesting. I suspect I've been using RIP's for too long and have stopped looking through the Epson print settings as a result. I was surprised too! I was looking for a setting to print on vellum. If one is looking for an in expensive way to do that, QTR is a real possibility too, but I'd first try some of eth newer setting. I was printing on my buddies 9900 yesterday and there are additional setting there too; synthetic , . so Eric Neilsen Eric Neilsen Photography 4101 Commerce Street, Suite 9 Dallas, TX 75226 www.ericneilsenphotography.com skype me with ejprinter Let's Talk Photography _____
