More about Dan... FYI

First to really elucidate the advantage of a highly partitioned multi density monochromatic system, even though the 1st MIS set was available, no one knew quite how to take advantage. First to openly discuss and explain various technical methods to achieve this, at length, even before it was very well perfected. First to use color management tools outside the box to advance that work. First to make softproof profiles for multi density mono inks. First to build partition curves into output profiles for direct printing, and they also soft proofed. This with the rgb driver and RIPs. And he did this all with long explanatory posts on public forums, sharing everything, and all this was done before this list even existed. When MIS posted his method on their site as instructions for how to use their ink he had them remove it, he wanted no association with any brand, any compensation for his experiments, or any on line guru glory. And this is just his mono work.. he also claimed an Epson 3000 could print on a taco, and regularly threatened to fill carts with vodka to see how that worked out... If you are printing b&w with ink, even oem solutions, you are doing something Dan impacted, no question.
