Digital BW, The Print

I'm trying to run the QTR Calibration Mode program to calibrate my Epson 2200 printer with MIS UT3D inks.  I run the 1st calibration print at 100% ink limit then the 2nd at 65% ink limit based on the Eboni density of the 1st print. However, the print steps of both the 1st and 2nd calibration prints turn out to be nearly identical in density along each of the ink channels. Also the shadow densities of the different 'color' ink channels are virtually the same visually and very close when measured with a densitometer.  The two prints are both using the same 2880 dpi, speed/dither settings, etc.  I've checked my workflow against those described by Roark, Moore, Diallo in different documents and seem to be consistent but must be missing something.  Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Gil
