Hi Mark, If the BW conversion results in R=G=B, then all three channels are the same, i.e., contain the same information. You can prove this to yourself by turning each channel into a layer and compare with "difference" in the layers palate. The difference in information is prior to conversion to BW, but once it is R=G=B any channel is equal to the converted Gray scale file.
