I've seen the horizontal and vertical banding with QTR but not with the Epson driver...but I 
have never printed Black Only so it might be a long shot. With QTR an image with a resolution 
of around 675+- will have that screening effect. Resample it to 720 image is fine. I think it's 
a bug in QTR.
