I emailed Hahnemuhle to see if I could have some samples to be a beta tester and compare with Silver Rag. The project head Christensen, said they would be interested in having me test future products but this one was already out of beta tests. That sounded strange to me since no one I know has even seen it except Jimmy Doyle at a trade show and he doesn't even have any to play with yet. So, it's all a mystery to me, but evidently it is a little smoother than Silver Rag but is not a cotton based paper but rather an alpha cellulose sheet, like darkroom fiber. I'm interested in what kind of sheen it may exhibit. I'm sure Hahnemuhle doesn't want to give this market away to Crane. May the best man win. Personally the word "Pearl" worries me a little. It brings to mind the Cibachrome Pearl which was a sad surface.
