Digital BW, The Print

I hope to chime in.  I purchased a 7800 two weeks ago which has the 
latest 2.7 driver being run on Mac OSX 10.3.  From reading on this 
forum, I was under the impression that there is no Black mode for 
the K3 printers.  Well, there is a setting.  I have the option of 
choosing Color, Advanced B&W, or Black.  Out of curiosity, I printed 
one image under Black mode on Ilford Smooth Pearl paper.  The result 
was a very warm print with good detail.  Looks similar to the prints 
I would get when printing BO with my 4000.  The image bronzes while 
the same print on Advanced B&W does not.  Now I wonder whether the 
PK on the K3 inkset is actually the same as the old Ultrachromes.  
Maybe someone with more experience with the x800 printers can 
comment.
