Stay with major brands but even that is not a guarantee. Memorex is currently selling 16x disks that are not reliable. With that said there's a whole sub-culture of users searching for the perfect burn: http:// club.cdfreaks.com/ Here's the Phillips forum for you Walt: http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=92 Their quest is to find a burner and media combo to produce a disc with the fewest errors. Also firmware and software is available official and not - to improve burn quality. I'd recommend everyone who is interested in preserving their images to head over and read.
