Digital BW, The Print

I'm looking at the MIS refillable spongeless carts as an alternative
to pre-filled. I have a few questions:

1. How long will a 4 oz bottle of ink last? I assume that after a
while the pigment particles start to drop out of suspension.

2. Has anyone recently reported damage to their printer after using
the chip resetter? I seem to remember hearing of such cases several
years ago, but assume that it was an earlier model of chip resetter.
Or I'm remembering wrong. I'm using an Epson 1280.
