Firstly, a belated thank you to everyone on the list who helped me out with advice. After some fairly extensive trialling, I decided to go with Idimager rather than Imatch or any of the others. The reasons were: - Idimager has a few useful features that Imatch doesn't - such as archiving of images to removable media (with an inbuilt burning facility); versions and ratings; - the responsiveness of the author to suggestions and bugs is fantastic. Most of the bugs reported have been fixed inside a week - sometimes days. Not only that, but the author will happily add features in response to suggestions - again, often within a week. The contrast to Imatch in this regard, is stark. - there are few useful features of imatch and bridge that idimager doesn't have (yet) (e.g variable size for viewing of thumbs; bridge 'slide show' function for quickly rating & rotating images) but the commitment to development means that this is likely to change in the not too distant future; - previous versions were a little slow on drawing up images but this is now largely fixed. Anyway, thanks again Regards Gareth
