Monitors

2005-05-04 by Stephen M Martin

I am about to install a new computer dedicated to Photoshop, IP, etc. With all the monitors out there, I am looking for recommendations as to which is best. I am considering the Sony Artisan-or whatever it's called now-and it's about $1,700 which is doable but, if there is something close for substantially less, I'd like to know about it. Thanks.

Subject: [Digital BW] Very basic B&W question

If you start with a black and when negative that scanned as a color
image, do you convert your image to grayscale before sending to the
  printer?

The reason I ask is I'm wondering how to correct a color cast in a b&w
print. If it's already gray scale, how do you correct the (magenta)
  cast?
