Digital BW, The Print

Hello,
A month ago I bought a used Epson 1280 in good shape. Now I want to 
install CIS UT-2 to it. Please help me diagnose if the printer is fit 
for it. What should I check? I did head allignment, all nozzles work, 
on high glossy paper I get good banding-free prints. The only problem 
I noticed is that with Epson Archival Matte (European Enhanced)I'm 
getting visible banding. What settings in Epson's driver should I use 
for this paper?

The amount of information in this group is enormous, I'm lost in all 
the things I should check and learn before making b&w prints. I hope 
somebody will be so nice to anser these apparently repeatedly asked 
questions. My previous question about what accessories and spare part 
to order from Inksupply together with UT-2 system was barely noticed.

I hope the day when I see my b&w prints made on the Epson finally 
comes!
