According to all of the rumors and translations, it seems that the 8-inks may not help address the issue of B+W printing. On one hand, according to the i_love_epson.co.jp page, perhaps the PX G inks may be better for glossy printing to eliminate bronzing. Yet, many had hoped that there would be a second light grey (instead of the one light grey in the 2100/2200/7600/9600) in order to help produce neutral B+W prints that were free of metamerism. Now, it seems that there will be two blacks (glossy vs. matte) in place to allow changing on the fly. While economical, this won't improve print quality. So, perhaps we will have to wait for future updates for a true B+W printer from EPSON. Or, perhaps EPSON has significantly improved the driver for the 4000 (similar to their RIP or ImagePrint) to address B+W printing. We can only hope.
