Barry,

I just installed QuadTone Beta.8 this week end on my Mac with OS X (ver
10.2.6). Every time i dropped the Cool / Warm Profilee txt files on the
Terminal window opened by the install profile script, I only wound up
with the profile txt file in the Curves Drop Box and the curves did not
appear in the pinter set up window. If you read the comments about the
latest Beta they note you may be asked for your admin password. I was
never asked for my password.

I solved this problem by opening a terminal window and then logging in
with my admin password. I left that terminal window open and then
dropped the profile txt files on to the new terminal window opened by
the profile script, hit the enter key and the curves installed.
You'll know if this works because after you hit the enter key you will
see the curve being written as it scrolls through the terminal window.
I did this for both cool and warm profiles. When I then went to print
the cool/warm curves showed up as they should. Tonight I just printed
, a 100% cool, a 100% warm and finally a 85/15 cool/warm. The 85/15
was just about spot on to my taste.

By the way the notes say that after you run the install profiles script
you do not have to run the install curves script. I found this to be
true.

As to the password quirk, I would have thought, that as I long as I
long in as a single user with admin authority, terminal would know
that. Apparently it does not. I also may have some problems in that a
sometimes I get a terminal message that termcap or terminfo can not be
found. Another problem for another day.

Anyway this is what worked for me. Hope it helps

And Kudos to Roy Harrington and Carl Schofield for a great program and
support.
