Digital BW, The Print

I've got a 1160 printer that is giving me trouble.  I've never had trouble with 
it in the past , so I'm not sure what to do.  The black head is terminally 
clogged or it's premeturely out of ink (which I suspect is the case).  
However, I'm having no luck getting the print heads into the position to 
change the cartrages.  The system does not show that it is ready for ink, 
so every time I push the button and hold for 3 sec it just goes into a 
cleaning cycle.  I've tried pulling the plug during the time it is doing that, 
but that does not release the head (I can not move it easly manually and I 
am afraid I will damage it).  Can anyone tell me what to do?  Would 
appreciate any help I can get.  Please email me or post on the list.  I 
would probably get a email faster and I'm dead in the water now.  Thanks
