Image management software

2002-06-03 by stevekphoto

Hello all;

Last week I hung a show in Miami-silver prints on the wall, but
around 30 inkjet prints in portfolio boxes on the side. I had them
labeled as 'Archival Quality Carbon Pigment Giclee Prints' on the
back along with 'care and feeding 'instructions. They were priced at
$150.00 each, for 9x12 prints on 13x17 paper. At the opening last
Friday, lot of poeple looked at them very carefully, asked a few
questions, and some seemed interested in owning one or two. I didn't
get any really direct feedback at that time, but over the next week
or two I hope to get a better idea through the gallery manager as to
what kind of impression they made. I hope that seeing them in the
environment of a gallery will overcome some of the resistance others
have reported, though I suspect it'll be a long slow process. I'll
post an udpate if anything comes of it...

Also: a couple weeks ago I mentioned an image management program in
development called ITRAK; It is now available as a functional demo
if any one is interested: http://www.cjcom.net/itrakcore.htm This
was written to do a few things well: keep track of your images and
prints, and provide you with a consignment record/inventory when you
send work out. A very usefull tool for exhibiting photographers.
