Reporting back on the new 1430, and refillables, I started off with a set of Auatralian MIR refillabes with Piezoflush. Once they looked OK, I loaded a set of normal carts from Hong Kong. I could not get the magenta cart to maintain a good nozzle check. Cyan was occasionally off too. After a few days,I loaded a set of IJM carts, swapped the chips, and put them in. After the normal fiddling with purge patterns and nozzle checks, they came clean, and have been so for a couple of days. I have seen no sign of leaking along the way in any of the carts.
I don't know what this all means, I suspect that my first 1430 was a dud in some way for Piezography inks. The new 1430 still doesn't seem to like standard carts but is working with the new two part ones.
I'm eternally grateful to Richard Boutwell for pointing me towards the two part carts. Getting this solution to work was important to me, and it's now looking good.
Cheers,
Jeff
