Digital BW, The Print

After talking to Epson repair people, I've decided to abandon  my 7800  
printer and downsize to a 17" wide.  
In the 17" wide printers, which one is best for B&W  printing?  
Does anyone have experience with the new P800?
I'm told to avoid the 3800 and 3880 since they have been discontinued and  
it will be just as difficult  to get parts as for the 7800. 
 
I have been happy with the K3 inks, and don't know anything about  the  
others.  (I use color occasionally, but am willing to forgo  it.) I used to use 
MIS which was beautiful, in a 3000 and 7600, but the  clogging became too 
much to handle.
