While using UC inks, I had spent more time unclogging my 4000 than time spent in printing. It was quite frustrating and expensive. Your cleaning methods for clearing the 4000 after it had set for years was amazingly helpful. Since using your E6 carbon ink set in the 4000, I haven't had a single clog that didn't clear with one short cleaning cycle. I have been thinking about using the Noritsu 4000-5K-plus ink set in it but haven't ventured there yet. Your work with the 4000 is exciting and a redemption for this old 88# workhorse model. Many were left abandoned because of incessant UC clogging problems and poor dMax. I'll be looking forward to your September exhibition at Gallery Los Olivos where I'm sure that the perfection of your images shown in this way will produce a very positive shock and awe. I'm especially excited about the 4000'sreincarnation with your really spectacular new ink set on metallic. I sense that it will finally allow truly great images from a 4000 that never seemed capable of producing them with pigment or traditional ink sets. (Do you describe your dry mounting method in any of the pdf's? I'll look at http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/4000-Noritsu-5K-Plus.pdf <http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/4000-Noritsu-5K-Plus.pdf>and see if it's mentioned there. Paul, thank you for your ink sets, mixing and purchasing instructions, carbon on cotton archival methods and all the years of teaching and sharing your vast array of photographic and artistic knowledge and excellence. You have made switching from film to digital not only easier but you have also furthered digital photographic attainments to new heights. Browsing through literally hundreds of highly regarded past era photographic portfolios, it is apparent that the attainment of enhanced digital images has raised the technical possibilities for this new photographic world greatly. Thanks again, Tom Hefter <http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/4000-Noritsu-5K-Plus.pdf> > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
