It's more about what plans are you making, right?.. The 5000 has been a discontinued item for a while. I understand the 9000 will be discontinued also. While I'm not a fan of them many are.. So if you have a need you may want to deal with it. Either purchase a scanner or figure on using a service company to do your scans.
