Walker and CD, Thank you for your reply. I should have better defined 'full strength" C and M. I was trying to distinguish them from LC and LM inks. It is my understanding that C and M are not used for getting to correct tone; rather LC and LM are used (along with K, LK, LLK, and Y of course). I just looked at a "warmish" ABW print under a stereomicroscope, and at low print densities, the dots of cyan and magenta were all very similar in density. But I was not able to see color quite as readily at high print densities. The reason for my asking is rather convoluted, but I am happy to elaborate if there is any interest. Regards. But generally there are even amounts of all color ink (slightly less yellow used) that go down during long extended (200+) printing sessions using ABW on the 4800. Color ink goes down 1/2 as fast as K ink. This is just my personal experience running labs. Don't know about how much during toning. I don't think "full strength" C or M is ever used in ABW whatever "full strength" means. > > QTR primarily uses LK as the workhorse ink. MK second. LLK third. (depending upon your setup.) Specifically, I would like to know if full strength C and M inks are used within +/- 20 points of the color wheel tint picker. > > > > Thank you & regards. > > > > Shilesh > > > > > > Walker Blackwell > 802.821.4451 > www.walkerblackwell.com > aim: greendirtblues > wblackwell@... > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] >
