I believe the only time you need a custom setup is when the settings on the Epson driver control panel don't give you the results you want. The only reason I knew the answer to your original question is that I had fooled around (as I am wont to do, often to my chagrin) with that part of the LFP controls. I don't use that method to do custom setups. I use the Epson control panel. It gives me many more ways to control my 4880. Are you printing with some other driver like QTR or some other RIP? If that's the case, then you will need to use the LFP for your custom paper setup. I should qualify that statement - I don't claim to know everything about the software or 4880 hardware.
