As to an R220 replacement for Black Only, the 1400 is my top recommendation. Even with my 1400 only some channels and some inks can handle critical printing without banding. I remember talking to an Epson rep about the 220. His comment was that they made it *too* good. It was cannibalizing their more expensive/profitable printers. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
