Hi,

Has anyone in the UK got the DTXpress III yet?

Keith.

Yeah I just bought one a couple of weeks back from Thomann in
Germany......Cost me £679:00 + £15:00 delivery and came in 5 days!!

Excellent service from Thomann!...And a good month and half earlier
than anywhere in the Uk!!

Waiting for a local ( proper established drum ) shop to get them in
in the next week or so - should be able to get one for £700 - maybe
less if there's a few of us wanting to buy at the same time ? The
will do them for £800 with a decent pedal, stool and sticks I reckon

Music Productiv in germany will do them now for 975 euro + 50 euro
post - around £690 - for the extra £20 it's worth getting one here,
at least you can take it back if it's faulty

regarding the racks - has anyone thought of filling the tubes with
sand to try and make them a little more "solid" ??

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

I once gave a thought to filling a rack with sand or shot. It would
certainly stabilize it and curtail vibration, but the rack would be
too bloody heavy. Better to use insulating foam, as Stephen Brown
does.

Couldn't tell you mate, never had a MKII but there are people doing comparisons on the Web site.....I know the "brain" is improved and I think you'll find that the snare is 3 Zone as opposed to 2 zone!...

The snare on both the Dtxpress II and Dtxpress III are the TP65S 3-zone snare. The toms are the TP65 mono zone pads on both kits. For the Dtxpress III (standard) the rack is new and there are some additional sounds in the module. ( I posted a review some time back of the differences between the II and the III by going through the manual page by page.) The Dtxpress IIISP has the newer round cymbal pads and the new hihat, but the snare and toms are still the same pads that came with the Dtxpress II.

Just got a phone call from Scheerers to say they are in, so I should
have mine today (Saturday). I assume this is the start of their
official availability on the UK. Yipee!

Keith.
