OK- Now I feel bad. You have 2 tasks- 1 is to build the pad and 2 is to
mount it to the tower. I started by taking the tower apart. As I recall
this involves removing some small black screws and removing all the
innards. The back plate has a perfectly good 1/4" jack. Hold the Remo
pad to the tower and you will see the main issue- you have a large
rectangular opening you need to somehow adapt to the pad. The good news
is this will eventually give you the ability to adjust the pad up and
down. I had a leftover piece of perforated steel "C" channel that I
hack-sawed off to make a backing plate that goes inside the tower. I
simply ran a bolt with a washer through that into the back of the Remo
pad. I suggest doing this before you build the pad so you can get a
sense of how things will line up. I did the opposite and ended up with
an inelegant but functional outcome.
I assume you found the article on converting the Remo pad to a trigger.
I used a coffee-can lid as a mount for the piezzo- hammered the edges a
bit so they wouldn't hurt the foam. To add another layer of foam, I used
packaging foam from a motherboard, curt to the size of the Remo.

In terms of pictures- the drums will not be back at home until Saturday
morning. I will use this opportunity to improve my mount and will take
pictures as I go. Expect something by Sunday if you need anything. also-
you can email me directly at creighton@... and I will
give you my home phone if that helps. I think you're going to like this
kick pad.
