Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Ok, I just got this machine.  Love the sounds, its' groovy... But... 
when MIDI triggering it, I can't get the computer to trigger kick 
sounds.  It works with all the banks except k and K!  Why?!  I'm 
pulling my hair out because I suspect it's something simple but can't 
figure it out.  When I put other bank voices on pad 1 it works great, 
and when I put kick voices on ANY pad, I get nada.  AM I A MORON?

First thing to look at : make sure all the MIDI
functions are correctly setup (there's a few tips on
the website http://www.welcome.to/DTXpressions).

Then use a MIDI analyser to check the MIDI messages
coming down the wire. There's one in the files section
of the DTXpress e-Group
Just load it up and monitor the MIDI input port. When
you hit the kick you should see a MIDI Note On message
appear. If not (esp. if other pads work), then check
the MIDI note number in the DTXpress.

Also check the MIDI leads. Try another set if you have
to.

If all this is correct and there's just no MIDI coming
from the kick, then you could have a problem. Back to
the dealer!

Maybe it is not a MIDI issue.
Do you have the kick volume turned all the way down?

Sorry to have waited so long to get back... been very busy!  Anyways, 
thanks for the input guys; I was able to fix the problem, but to this 
day have no idea what it was.  The volume was up, it would trigger 
the sound with the pad, just not MIDI info.  With MIDI you could hear 
an almost imperceptible click and that was all.  God knows waht I did 
to it to make that happen, I don't.  But when I reset it to factory 
default it worked fine, I was just hoping to not have to do that!
