First thing to look at : make sure all the MIDI
functions are correctly setup (there's a few tips on
the website http://www.welcome.to/DTXpressions).

Then use a MIDI analyser to check the MIDI messages
coming down the wire. There's one in the files section
of the DTXpress e-Group
Just load it up and monitor the MIDI input port. When
you hit the kick you should see a MIDI Note On message
appear. If not (esp. if other pads work), then check
the MIDI note number in the DTXpress.

Also check the MIDI leads. Try another set if you have
to.

If all this is correct and there's just no MIDI coming
from the kick, then you could have a problem. Back to
the dealer!
