I see Drumbalaya lists some new Zenbals, including 10" dual and single, hi-hat and mini-chinas, but no photos. Do they exist yet? Predictably, there's nothing on Pintech's site. Why are e-drum manufacturer's sites so poor? Stewart

Drumbalaya also list some "semi-transparent" Pintech cymbals too, which might be interesting (or might be the existing TC range in new materials). Stewart

I talked to Brian LaRue at Pintech in May. He said the new cymbals were about 3-4 weeks away. From what I can tell, they're not available yet. He did say the 10" hi hat would be packaged with a cymbal stand. I want one. Stephen Brian: Are you listening in!

Stephen and everyone, With this list of 740 or so members, with some of the silent ones starting to show their hands, it might be a good time to see whether we can arrange to demo products that appear to have strong interest among the members. We could ask Brian LaRue of Pintech, who is a member, if, say, he could send out the Pintech 10" hat for review by a group member who owns an Xpress module. Again, a report by someone familiar to 700 people collected into one mailing list about a product sent to us directly from a company would not hurt either sales or customer relations. I'm going to be in and out for the next two weeks or so. But I would be happy to speak with Brian personally about it as soon as I can, or someone else could represent the group (Stephen, you're already a safe bet with your "I want one"). Brian reads us, so he may volunteer his own opinion on the matter. I think that he's aware that Pintech has established a strong base here, even though we're gathered under the umbrella of the Xpress kit. Everyone of my pads, for instance, is a Pintech woven head, and I am a big fan. I'll check back later this week to see if people like the idea. Ed

Ed: Naturally, I think it's a GREAT idea. Especially if I were to be the CHOSEN ONE. Speaking of pintech gear; I'm all pintech except for my hi-hat. Which is precisely the reason why I'm waiting for the new pintech hats to come out. I wouldn't have to be a paid reviewer/endorser; but a decent discount wouldn't hurt. Brain: Are you listening? Stephen p.s. Brian, are you still coming to Louisville for the PASIC convention? If so, give me details.

I spoke to Brian LaRue at Pintech this afternoon about the possibility of group members doing reviews of demo products. He was quite receptive to the idea. (Stephen, I've e-mailed you offline; give me a holler back if you get the message.) Anyway, this would be a great opportunity for us to share valuable information with each other, and Pintech, about an important and impressive line of products, which, by the way, are eminently compatible with Yamaha electronics. As I have said before, the Pintech line has much to offer Xpress, Xtreme, and DTX owners, and 700 or more people getting the good word can't hurt Pintech either. Ed Ed

I'll get with Brian about the possibility of a review. Speaking of reviews, what is the feasability of somehow creating files of reviews by manufacturer, cross-referenced by equipment type? That way, members could quickly find reviews either by brand or pad type, for instance. If there's not a way to do that on Yahoo!, maybe we could double-post the reviews; once here and once (in a manageable system) on DTXpressions. Stephen

Stephen, Excellent idea. I was thinking on those lines myself. When I can get to my own computer sometime in the next week or so, I'll help to address this matter. I'll get back to you about the review when I can, but I hope you and Brian get together. Ed

Time to get busy with those reviews, Stephen! Stewart
