Hey Scott, I own a DTXpressII and had same attachment problem with
my Twin Iron Cobra Power Glide pedal. I'm not sure if the
attachments are the same size but I had to work my pedal a little
before it fit. I have to admit I was getting frustrated a little
and its not the perfect fit, but it fits and works. It has never
gotten loose or required me to re-fit it either. Needless to say
I'm very happy with the pedal eight months later!

Yeah. Brute force seemed to be the correct approach.

Im afraid I had to resort to brute force in the end, it just needed
a couple of "taps" with my 2lb lump hammer and, hey presto, one
fitted pedal.

FYI

2003-07-20 by Scott Boehmer

I am probably the last one to ever notice this ... but on the DTXPress I & II the kick tower has a ridge that causes it to be challenging to fit a kick pedal over.
I purchased a new Tama Iron Cobra Jr. to replace my worn out pedal. I was sad to find out that the "hoop grip" would not it over the ridge on the kick tower frame. The ridge is the same on the newer VII Express.
I ended up with a Yamaha pedal (not sure of the model) ... it was considerably more pricey than the Tama pedal. I hope that it makes me a double/triple king now ... 8~)

Yeah. Brute force seemed to be the correct approach ...

It doesn't know how close a 5 lb sledge hammer came to fixing the problem
:~)
