No Drum For You

No Drum For You

Well, just got back from the Dr.'s office......with a cast halfway up
my fore arm. Broken knuckle. Right hand.

Tip for all of you. Punch pillow, not wall.

Stephen,

Yikes. I feel for you, having come through a long stretch when I
couldn't do any drumming either. It's not a funny situation, but, to
paraphrase the old joke, I'd like to see the wall. By the way,
what's your feeling about the AX14S, if you can even give it any
thought at the moment? You will be back.

Ed

Perfect opportunity to strengthen your left hand, then.

Hey there. I broke them hands on April 10. I didn't hit the wall. I
got hit by a car. Not being able to drum or play guitar has really
bummed me out. They are not nearly healed yet.

Several years ago, during my drinking years, I smacked my fist into a
hot water heater and shattered the knuckle in my right pinky into 4
pieces. It has healed totally, with no problems. On the other hand
(LOL) this time the soft tissue injuries associated with my broken
thumbs seem to be a bigger problem. Sometimes in a stiff breeze my
thumbs will flap like a busted pinata in a Texas twister. (Just kidding.)

I have an appointment next week to see an occupational therapist about
my hands. If I find out about any useful had rehab tricks/exercises,
I'll post 'em on this group.

Meanwhile, don't even punch the pillow. Just speak sternly to it.

dj;
right pinky is the victim here, too. however, my problem doesn't seem
nearly as bad after hearing your story. sorry and good luck.

stewart;
i was thinking the same thing

ed;
yeah, this will be tough not playing for a while. i did play a
session on monday. missed two sessions since because the pain was too
much. thought the following would make good liner notes.... " tracks
4 and 5 played with broken hand/the show must go on"

haven't thought any more about the ax14s; thought i might tweak the
102st a little more.

sorry for the lower case type
