Re: [DTXpress] No Drum For You

2003-06-18 by dj@arrowsash.com

Hey there. I broke them hands on April 10. I didn't hit the wall. I
got hit by a car. Not being able to drum or play guitar has really
bummed me out. They are not nearly healed yet.

Several years ago, during my drinking years, I smacked my fist into a
hot water heater and shattered the knuckle in my right pinky into 4
pieces. It has healed totally, with no problems. On the other hand
(LOL) this time the soft tissue injuries associated with my broken
thumbs seem to be a bigger problem. Sometimes in a stiff breeze my
thumbs will flap like a busted pinata in a Texas twister. (Just kidding.)

I have an appointment next week to see an occupational therapist about
my hands. If I find out about any useful had rehab tricks/exercises,
I'll post 'em on this group.

Meanwhile, don't even punch the pillow. Just speak sternly to it.
